Charming natural landscape (FFH area) that can be experienced very closely on MTB tours or hikes. Around and between two (large and small) sinkholes you can gain many impressions and enjoy a fantastic natural landscape. You can find orchids here and in June you can find the real Quendel with its purple-violet flowers.

The gypsum deposits in the Zechstein limestone are leached out by penetrating seepage water. Underground washouts or cavities are formed. If the ceiling mountain is no longer stable, it can collapse. Usually funnel-shaped sinkholes, so-called sinkholes, form. The "Great Doline" that arose here is over 400 meters long and up to 170 meters wide.
After the south-western tip of the sinkhole was used as a garbage dump in the late 1960s, the "Great Doline" is now designated as an extensive natural monument. It is characterized both geologically and with a wealth of rare and endangered animal and plant species.
