The stony and nutrient-poor crest with its limited agricultural use has led to the formation of a species-rich lime lawn. In 2005, the NABU regional association of Hesse acquired the approximately 1.3 hectare area and has since taken regular landscape maintenance measures to preserve the old cultural landscape. The NABU Group Solz e.V. is responsible for the area management.
