This is a classic viewpoint for the Bidean massif's Three Sisters, one of the most iconic sights in the Highlands and a view that’s emblematic of Glen Coe. The trio of siblings in question are Aonach Dubh, Gearr Aonach and Beinn Fhada. Each sister is a termination of the northeast reaching ridges that protrude from the main spine of the complex and awe-inspiring Bidean.

There's plenty of room for motorists to pull in and take in the sights here. Meanwhile, hikers can use the parking spaces as a starting point for either adventures on the Bidean or to begin an ascent to the Aonach Eagach ridge to the north. However, for the latter, there is more suitable parking along the main road to the east.

During a hike, one can already be horrified by the historical background:

Two sentences made the valley of tears in this beautiful valley: "Robert Campbell, an officer of the crown, who lives in Glen Coe, is" You are hereby ordered to fall upon the rebellions, the McDonalds of Glenco, and put on the sword under seventy. " With his 120 soldiers already having enjoyed the hospitality for days, they should now kill, all, precisely at 5 clock in the morning: "Att fyve of the clock precisely". Reason: The MacDonalds have William III. of Orange did not swear allegiance until 1.1.1692. The Highlanders were faithful to their King James II, but he was driven into exile. With him the clan wanted to ask for permission. That took. For six whole days they have taken the oath too late. Reason for William III to make an example.

The Three Sisters at Glencoe are a must for any hiking enthusiast. Detour to individual glens is worthwhile. At the Lost Valley parking lot you should start early otherwise all parking spaces will quickly be full.
