Tilly House was built in 1610 as the youngest part of the Heisterman von Ziehlbergschen Adelshof, immediately after the family had bought the house. In 1876 the Tillyhaus was extensively renovated and separated from the rest of the building. In 2008, the Tillyhaus, which had been vacant for about 20 years, was last saved from decay by a restoration.

Allegedly, General Johann T'Serclaes von Tilly stayed overnight in this house during the Thirty Years' War, but this is not documented. The house was originally located in Bevern and was relocated to Holzminden in 1609, as commemorated by an inscription in the Renaissance portal.
