      One of the numerous works of art that can be admired on the hike through the wonderful Seifersdorfer Valley. Splendid.

        This monument was inaugurated in honor of Count Hans Moritz von Brühl on the occasion of his 38th birthday on July 26, 1784 in the presence of the rural population with festive music and songs.

        It bears the following inscription:

        "Monumentum amoris Christinae com. a Brühl 1784” (monument to the love of Christina, Countess of Brühl).

        In addition, the Count is praised as a philanthropic squire:

        "Blessed are we of the Count we han!

        He is good lord and good man;

        We boldly approach him

        Because he has no sting.”

        "Hail to him who thinks kindly of us.

        Like father to son.

        Who cares lovingly, who gives us joy.

        Thanks to him and God's son."

        Caspar David Friedrich drew the obelisk around 1800.
