The Eselsbachtal is pleasant to ride on the Barbarossa cycle path. Here you have a 30-40 minute long route between Enkenbach-Alsenborn and Kaiserslautern, most of which leads through the forest on solid gravel. It's not very crowded and there is a lot of shade. You don't see the Eselsbach itself very often, as you usually don't drive close to it.
