Naturally, from up here, one building in Mayschoss is particularly striking: the church with its imposing spire, which clearly towers over all other houses. The parish of Mayschoss has entrusted its community not only to one saint as patron, but (to the motto: "twice as good", if I may be so casual in this context) has given it a double patronage: once Saint NIKOLAUS, Bishop of Myra, familiar to everyone since childhood as the pre-Christmas gift-bringer; and then Saint ROCHUS, who was primarily invoked as a patron against the plague.
