In 2010, Terwolde celebrated its 1050th anniversary.

1. The church. In the centre of the village is the 14th century Terwolde Church, which was dedicated to the saints Cosmas and Damian until the Reformation. During a restoration in the 1990s, a large number of wall paintings were uncovered that were made between around 1490 and around 1540.
2. The village pump is to the right of the church. There is also a bench, usually in the sun.
