Very little is known about the 13th century Djuma Mosque in Bukhara, as it has been completely rebuilt several times since its completion. There is evidence that it had a spacious inner courtyard, which was lined with galleries. Its minaret, which was erected in 1127 AD, still exists today and still dominates the silhouette of Bukhara.
