From here the descent into the Brunnental begins, which you can explore extensively; there is a lot worth seeing to discover here!

To the north-east of the winter site, the terrain drops steeply 60 m and, together with the slope opposite, forms the Brunnental, through which the Äschersbach has dug its bed. Clear spring water wells up from many underground basalt fissures, which collects in two ponds and, downstream, powered the fountains in the valley, the pumping station for pumping drinking water into the city and, further down the line, the mill for the holy Born, the city mill and the stone mill.
Grünberg owes today's Brunnental local recreation area to the Grünberger tourist association, which began laying paths in 1901 and in 1908 purchased land on the side opposite the town, which was made accessible by paths.
