This red painted wooden bridge over the Westerwoldsche Aa was built in 1976 over the dead arm of the Westerwoldsche Aa. It is a copy of an eighteenth-century bridge that used to be in Oudeschans. The bridge has two gate doors, with which the bridge can be closed. The bridge is the western entrance to the old Oudeschans fortress. Next to the bridge you can still see the entrance to the harbor that used to be near the Garrison Church in Oudeschans.
