The building was built in 1905 by the Leipzig Art Nouveau architect Fritz Drechsler. From the builder who at the same time pushed ahead with the largest project in the then independent community - the construction of the town hall Schönefeld. Until the end of the GDR, the Schönefelder could pick up their parcels and letters and send them there. With the turnaround also the era of the post office came to an end, in the meantime offices were accommodated therein. But in recent years, the aging building has been empty.
