The vineyard paradise lies in "Egypt." There, in addition to magnificent views, there are also beautiful vineyard gardens. Why this parcel of land was named after this distant land and is even spelled with an "E" is anyone's guess. Perhaps because in the Middle Ages, traveling people, the "Sons of Egypt," stayed in the protected wine-growing valleys. Or perhaps also because the Mansfeld region is known for its mining waste dumps, which sit like pointed caps on the mountains. These dumps are shaped like pyramids.
