Hiking

In Lohsdorf you can still see old tracks and locomotives of the narrow-gauge railway from Hohnstein to Goßdorf-Kohlmühle. The railway line was opened in 1897. It was 12.1 km long and drove through two tunnels. The main users of the railway were many workers who commuted to Kohlmühle to the linoleum works or to the factories in the Elbe Valley. On the weekends, the line was used by day trippers and hikers. There were 6 to 12 trains running daily. With the use of buses, tourist traffic decreased. The last train ran in 1951.
