1553 in the possession of the von Nostitz family.
In 1557 Franz von Nostitz had today's castle built in the Renaissance style as a replacement for a dilapidated moated castle
In 1751 the estate was bought by Hans Heinrich von Zezschwitz
In 1754 the Count von Reuss family bought the castle
From 1840 Schloss Leichnam belonged to the Lords of Ratzdorf.
After further changes of ownership, the estate came into the possession of Fritz Sachsse in 1910. The following year, Sachsse arranged for the place to be renamed Spreewiese.
