In this hut there is also a fireplace and loungers or seats - If it is too cold or too wet in the Pyrenees, then go into the hut, close the door and put wood in the fireplace. There is another small hut further up, which is/was misused as a toilet - it is really only to be used in the last resort - otherwise continue - the descent to Roncevalles is steep and very slippery when it rains - there are 2 paths, From experience I cannot recommend the steep and short one (the one on the left). We went down because the rain stopped - that was stupid because the path was slippery and the stones are dangerous if you accidentally fall. If you walk with sticks - be sure to secure yourself forward without rubber bands!
