Evangelical church from the 16th century. Choir and tower are much older. Unfortunately closed, so we couldn't see the Gothic wall paintings in the interior.

A landmark of Billigheim is the Protestant church with its 40-meter-high tower.
The oldest part of the church is the basement, built in the 11th century. The nave is late Gothic, and I found the year 1522 on the west portal. The baroque dome on the tower is also interesting. Next to the church is the town hall, and an ice cream shop is open on the ground floor in the warmer months, see photo.

This church is visible from afar with its baroque dome! "The choir from the 14th century is also an art-historical gem, because its ribbed vault houses very impressive Gothic wall paintings from around 1400. [...] The depictions - the wall paintings were only discovered in 1892 - turned out to be in part an educational teaching aid for the believers or churchgoers of the services of that time to learn by heart and memorize. For example, the earliest known depiction of the 'Our Father' has been preserved in the Billigheim church, a cultural-historical treasure."Source (quoted verbatim): evpfalz.de/gemeinden_cms/index.php?id=2418There has been a Bible garden in front of the church since 2002 - with plants that are mentioned in the Bible!
