The Gambarogno Botanical Garden is located in Vairano-San Nazzaro and is known for its collection of camellias and magnolias, one of the richest in Europe. Thanks to the hillside location, the terrain and the climatic conditions, 950 varieties of camellias and almost as many magnolias of great rarity grow here, followed by azaleas, rhododendrons and other ornamental plants. The flowering period lasts several months; the best period to visit is spring: from March to May the park is a veritable sea of flowers. The view of Lake Maggiore and the Alps is priceless.
