At 1,960 meters, the Tamaro is not an extremely difficult summit to climb, but it can rightly be described as an extreme vantage point. It is one of the few vantage points from which, on a clear day, you can see both the lowest (Lago Maggiore at 193 meters) and the highest point in Switzerland (Dufourspitze at 4,634 meters).

Monte Tamaro rises between the Luganese and the Locarnese and offers a spectacular panoramic view of a large part of the Ticino: the two lakes (Ceresio and Verbano) and the surrounding valleys, the Bellinzonese and the Malcantone with their mountains.

Lugano Lake in south-east direction, for the last 200 to 300 m to the summit you should be really free from giddiness and make sure you step safely.
