The Tamaro is with its 1,960 meters, although not extremely difficult to climb summit, but you can justifiably call it an extreme vantage point. It is one of the few viewpoints from which you can see in clear weather both the deepest (Lake Maggiore at 193 meters altitude) and the highest point in Switzerland (Dufourspitze with 4,634 meters altitude).

Monte Tamaro rises between the Luganese and the Locarnese and offers a spectacular panoramic view of a large part of the Ticino: the two lakes (Ceresio and Verbano) and the surrounding valleys, the Bellinzonese and the Malcantone with their mountains.
