The center of Lahm, which was mentioned in a document in the 9th century, is the remarkable ensemble castle, church and lake, built by the barons of Lichtenstein. The cross-shaped central building of the Protestant-Lutheran castle church "Zur Hl. Dreieinigkeit", built in the French Baroque style in 1732, is dominated by the magnificent organ (built from 1728 to 1734 by Heinrich Gottlieb Herbst from Halberstadt). The mighty instrument with its 29 stops on three works already impressed externally by the two early pedal towers. The organ is one of the most valuable organ works in Europe. Regular organ concerts are held in the church.

Lahm Castle is an impressive Baroque complex in Lahm im Itzgrund. It was built between 1709 and 1713 by the master builder Johann Dientzenhofer for the Barons of Lichtenstein.
The castle is a four-winged complex with a courtyard and impresses with its symmetrical design and rich Baroque ornamentation. Of particular note is the Castle Church of St. Nicholas, considered one of the most beautiful Baroque village churches in Franconia and directly integrated into the castle complex.
Today, the castle is privately owned and not open to the public. However, the Castle Church can be visited and is a popular destination for lovers of Baroque art and architecture.
