The Adolfseck Schanze is a small siege castle for Adolfseck Castle near the Bad Schwalbach district of Adolfseck but in the Lindschied district in the Rheingau-Taunus district in Hesse. The small Roman fort of Adolfseck was found in the immediate vicinity to the east.

Hiking

The rampart was probably built during the Thirty Years' War, when the Electorate of Mainz destroyed Adolfseck. In this respect, the complex can be viewed as a siege castle. Its location meant that access from the left bank of the Aar to Adolfseck could be blocked. In addition, Adolfseck Castle could be easily fired upon from this position.
