This was a thorn in the side of those in power at the time. B. the "Bernsteinhaus" (inhabited by the Bernstein family) was expropriated and the owners drove to their death.
At the end of the war, the amber house in question became the property of the Jewish Trust, which then sold it back to the city of Fröndenberg.
This sold it in 1961 to the entrepreneur Ulmke-Osterbrauck, a former SS leader .....
