The bronze David Hansemann statue was built in 1888 by Heinz Höffmeister.
Right at the beginning of Monheimsallee, in the green Alleenpark, is the bronze figure of the Aachen entrepreneur David Hansemann. He was the most important businessman of his time. He founded several companies, including the "Aachen-Munich Fire Insurance Company" (1824) and the "Aachen Association for the Promotion of Industriousness" (1834).

The Alleenring is the middle of the Aachen city rings. The approx. 1.5 km long section between Hansemannplatz and Ponttor is laid out as a park and thus the green section of the ring that surrounds the city center for a total of approx. 6 km.
