The Soul Boards are part of the Sculpture Trail.
Inspired by the Totenbretter in the Bavarian Forest, the artist developed the concept of the Seelenbretter. As companions, they should encourage the viewer to pause and think, to become still in our noisy and fast-moving times. Crossing cultures, they visualize the present and the past and denounce the transience and ephemerality of earthly existence. Under the artist's guidance, Diepholz high school students and a group of confirmands created these soul boards, which have been set up at various points along the sculpture path.
