De Stip, as the tower was baptized, is a belated gift from a group of volunteers who wanted to commemorate the centenary of their club last year.

Forest ranger Paul van der Aa is happy with the initiative. “We want to increase the experience value of nature. You have a beautiful view of this tower. Here in the distance you see the landscape as it looked a hundred years ago,” he says, standing at the highest point of the tower.

The new lookout tower has been placed in the southern part of De Stippelberg, right next to the 'blue' walking route. It is remarkable that all the wood used in the tower comes from the Gemert-Bakel nature reserve itself.
