This lime tree, which is already more than 5 centuries old and therefore heavily damaged, stands on the border of the fields of Hoogkouter, Laagkouter and Neerwaarden, near the Bussegem district. The ghost lime is a so-called veteran tree. An old tree that has been weathered by wind and weather, shows cavities and deformities. Because the tree stands alone in an open field, there may have been lightning strikes.
