The Maria Schray church on the outskirts of Pfullendorf is a baroque church and is a meeting point for pilgrims.
The Pfullendorf Pilgrim Church dates back to the 13th century in its original form. The church was almost completely destroyed in the Thirty Years' War. Today the Maria Schray Church is a stop on the Upper Swabian Baroque Route.
Maria Schray was mentioned in documents in the 13th century. It underwent a change in the late Gothic style in the 15th century. In the 17th century, the church was renovated in Baroque style, after which the church was burned by the Swedes in July 1632, during the Thirty Years' War, and those present were killed by the soldiers. Only the choir room survived the fire.
