Great path between Rifflsee and the Taschachhaus. Always along the more or less steep slope.

On the Fuldaer Höhenweg you have great views of the mountains, the Taschach valley and the glacier. The path is an easy hiking trail but cannot be ridden by bike. The highest point is 2650 m.
The Fuldaer Höhenweg connects the Opens external link in new windowRiffelseehütte (2,289 m) with the Taschachhaus (2,434 m) and is looked after by our section. It leads high above the Taschach valley in a southerly direction above the tree line for a length of approx. Eleven kilometers along the sunny slopes of the pit ridge and the ice box head.
The differences in altitude are only slight. Most of the time you walk on a well-trodden path over grassy slopes that are sometimes a bit stony. You cross two ice box streams and in the last third you reach the craggy and rocky terrain. Due to a rock fall, the somewhat exposed chain passage no longer exists. The path now leads over a short, secured steep section to the right on the so-called panorama path towards the hut.
On the second part of the high trail, the glaciated mountains of the Ötztal come into view in an impressive way - including Brochkogel and Wildspitze. We recommend a start from the Riffelseehütte, which can be reached either by cable car or on foot (1.5 hours).
The ascent of the Fuldaer Höhenweg to the Taschachhaus takes about 3.5 hours. The way back leads over the moraine slopes of the Taschachferner with a gripping view of its ice breaks to the valley station of the material cable car. From here you can either go back to Mandarfen by renting a bike (registration in the Taschachhaus) or on foot on a road. Descent on foot around 2.5 hours in total.
