The Peace Monument is located in the southern part of the Groenpool Gentbrugse Meersen and is one of the first realizations in the further development of this green pool with space for nature and extensive recreation. The monument is built in a steel structure on which a wooden planking of FSC-labelled wood has been applied. The construction expresses the themes of peace and nature development in a landscape architectural manner. The landmark can be climbed and offers a wide view of the Meersen landscape.

Cycling

The Peace Monument is a rather striking object in the flat lake landscape. It is a wooden structure built on a steel structure and represents a white peace flag. It is also a lookout tower and offers an excellent overview of the area.

Depots are provided at the entrance of the path to the monument where you can secure your bicycle. This way you can visit the monument in peace without having to pass through the game fences with your bike. The unpaved paths through the area are accessible once you have passed the gates.
