The paradise weir is located at the "exit" of paradise on the Oberaue.
You can sit nicely on the carry dock for paddle boats, watch the water and end the evening.

The Saale flows through the Volkspark from south to north. There are two barrages, the lawn mill weir and the paradise weir. There are hydropower plants on both, the plant on the Paradieswehr was put into operation in spring 2000.
The Saale divides the Volkspark into the smaller western part, in which the Paradies-Bahnhof, Paradies and Rasenmühleninsel are located, and the larger eastern part with the actual Volkspark Oberaue, the sports facilities and the Schleichersee.
Crossings over the dividing Saale are possible at four points: to the north by the tram bridge and the Paradies bridge, at the southern end of the festival meadow through the sports field footbridge and south of the Ernst-Abbe sports field through the Lichtenhainer Saalebrücke built in 2012.
