The country house Het Schol was built in 1851. The building is a national monument, partly because of its age and "the special and recognizable architecture". The gardener's house, a wooden house and wooden boxes are also designated as national monuments on the estate.
The mansion was featured in the 1976 film "A Bridge Too Far" as "Hotel Hartenstein".
