The Bolwerksmolen mill dates back to 1863 and is the only wind-powered sawmill in the province of Overijssel. Demonstrations include sawing, grinding, pulling logs from the water, and lifting and securing trees onto the saw carriage.

Hiking

The Bolwerksmolen is a national monument. The sawmill was built in 1863 and put into use for the first time two years later. The mill has already been through the eye of the needle a number of times: due to its slightly higher location, it remains almost completely unscathed during various floods and during the bombings in WWII the mill escaped with some abrasions.
