Hiking
The estate was already listed in a deed of purchase in 1532 as Hoeve ten Sande. Later it became the property of St. Peter's Abbey in Ghent (deed of 1772). A castle was not built on the domain until 1900, which was thoroughly renovated around 1938 and got its current shape.
