The church in Lavesum, in which the services are celebrated to this day, was built between 1921 and 1924. On November 6, 1924, it was opened by Bishop Dr. Johannes Poggenburg consecrated. At the beginning of 2007, the Antonius Church was once again completely renewed thanks to the great commitment of many Lavesumers. This energy output could be achieved mainly by parishioners. St. Antonius formerly belonged to the Sixtus Parish until it became an independent parish in 1941. Until 1985 the Antonius congregation had its own pastor on site.
