On the dike path close to and almost entirely parallel to the Alte Oder/Hohensaaten-Friedrichsthal waterway, we were able to walk on March 8, 2021 from Stolpe to Schwedt, among other places. observe the following animals: cranes, gray herons, white-fronted geese, gray geese, barnacle geese, cormorants, swans, ducks, red kites, kestrels, hooded crows, great tits and deer.

Binoculars for observation and/or a telephoto lens can be very worthwhile here.
