Known locally as Carnegie's Bothy, the Dalnashallag Bothy is a small but charming shelter. It stands on the high, open moorland of Strath an Eilich and is on the route of the East Highland Way. Usefully, the River Calder flows by about 65 feet (20 m) from its door.

The bothy is within striking distance of three Monadhliath Munros: Càrn Dearg, A' Chailleach and Carn Sgulain. It is not a facility maintained by the Mountain Bothies Association and is often used by deer stalkers.
