The Spreewehrmühle, formerly known as the watermill, was built around 1800 and shut down at the end of the 1950s. Today it is a technical monument that can be visited.

The Spreewehrmühle, formerly a watermill, is one of the few remaining river mills in the eastern German states and has been owned by the city of Cottbus since 1904. In the 1950s it gradually went out of service and was finally shut down in 1959. The Spreewehrmühle was placed under monument protection in the GDR in 1985. You can visit the mill on Thursdays for € 2. In 1991 the restaurant was closed due to structural defects. In December 1998, after a complete reconstruction and renovation of the listed building, the traditional café & restaurant "Spreewehrmühle" was reopened in a new beauty. Very nice guest house with a terrace, great place for cyclists and hikers to take a break.

Spreewehrmühle ... a very nice restaurant on the Spree with a nice beer garden. Fair prices, great food, especially fish, and nice service.
