On the 1.5 km long “Baroque Walk” you will be guided around the castle and through the tree park. You will experience the green, park-like environment of the baroque city and palace complex. The path is marked by eight steles, texts on the history of the city of Bad Arolsen accompany it. The far-reaching urban planning concept of the historical city design is made clear by the baroque landscape axis.
It runs perpendicular to Schloßstraße in the central axis of the castle and is largely preserved today. North of the castle it leads over the castle pond, through the Spendelallee and beyond the valley as a visual axis through a forest aisle far into the landscape. The delightful, wooded, hilly landscape of the Waldecker Land is ideal for hiking. To the south of the castle, the landscape axis leads through the tree park, and after leaving the park to the "Königsberg" cattle market square. From here the idyllic Aartal can be explored.
