Hiking Highlight (Segment)
The Barranco de los Cernícalos (Kestrel Canyon) is a nature reserve where water flows throughout the year and there are waterfalls year-round. As the name suggests, many kestrels have their territory in this gorge. You often see them in the sky, they circle and hear them. To walk through this gorge is very worthwhile and is definitely recommended. The path constantly crosses the watercourse and there are really numerous waterfalls (some hidden). The vegetation is also very lush, many ferns, reeds, broom ...

The hike is very nice and I can only confirm what others have already written. On the way into the gorge (down) you have to go through a private area. Until recently, the book seems to have gone well, but there is now a gate that you can't pass when it's closed. Apparently, this used to be easy to do on the side. In addition, it is not always entirely certain where exactly you have to go. Having a mobile phone with GPS is therefore necessary for the route!
