Hiking Highlight
Highest mountain of Gran Canaria. Gorgeous panorama. A bit of physical fitness is required for walking, but you can also get there by car. That's what most people do.

Honestly, I was a bit disappointed, up next to the radar analysis is a small turnaround where a tourist catcher peddles his wares. In addition, touring buses, cars and mountain bikers crowded close together. However, since most guides feed out many canary birds are present, but if you keep your eyes open you can see them in other places.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a nature experience, turn to the Roque Nublo, from where I found the panorama more beautiful.

The Pico de las Nieves (in German: “summit of snow”) is the second highest point on Gran Canaria at 1,949 meters. Sometimes it is also called “Pozo de las Nieves” or “Pico de los Pozos de las Nieves”. The summit is located in the island's mountainous region and is easily accessible by car. Access is possible via the GC-130 and the GC-134. Free parking spaces are also available directly at the viewpoint.Right next to the Pico de las Nieves is also the Morro de la Agujereada, also known as Pico de los Pozos. At 1,956 meters, this mountain is the highest point on the island. You can also see this mountain well from the vantage point. A short path leads you from the parking lot up to the highest point. If the view is clear, you have a great view of the mountains of Gran Canaria from the lookout point. From here you can e.g. also see the Roque Nublo, one of the landmarks and an important pilgrimage site in Gran Canaria. In addition, the Teide volcano on Tenerife rises on the horizon. Often you are even above the clouds. Because these are often quite low in the mountains of Gran Canaria. If you want to hike, there are options on site. A hiking trail leads down from the parking lot at Pico de las Nieves. In different ways you can reach e.g. the Roque Nublo or the camping and picnic area Llanos De La Pez. However, the Pico de las Nieves itself is not a classic hiking area, but rather a worthwhile stop as part of your hike.unaufschiebbar.de/reiseziel/europa/kanonien-inseln/pico-de-las-nieves-gran-canaria

Highest point on the island - 1956 meters above Maspalomas beach.
Unfortunately the top of the summit (about 30 meters higher than the parking lot)
is not accessible and is located in a small military area.
