In good weather, paragliders start their flight into the valley from here.

When we were passing through, they were just milking the cows. The friendly owners gave us a jug of fresh, warm cow milk for free. So good!

            Alp Bargälla, Gaflei
Alp lying on both sides of the Kulm, partly on the Rhine valley side and partly on the Samina valley side, municipality of Triesenberg, 1100–1960 m above sea level, 243.7 ha, of which 70 ha are productive pastureland.
The name Bargälla is an Old Romansh diminutive (*bargella) of Romansh bargia (stove, gazebo, hay barn). The term Alpa (Alp), also common in Triesenberg, is interpreted as an indication that Bargälla could have been the first Alp to come into Triesenberg's possession.
First mentioned in the Brandisian Urbar (1509/1517) as a Walser Alp. Originally a cooperative Alp, Bargälla came into Triesenberg's municipal ownership in 1562 and became a municipal Alp. The alpine farming was carried out by individual dairy farmers until 1887. In 1879, there were 33 "umbrellas" (alpine huts) on Bargälla. Today, there is an alpine stable on each side of the Kulm and the hunting lodge of the Bargälla hunting area on the east side. The alpine stable in the Saminatal has not been used for over two decades. Bargälla can be reached from the Rhine Valley via an alpine road. Bargälla was traditionally a cow alp, today it is mainly a Galtalp. In 1928, 75 cows were summered, in 2004 there were still four cows without cheese production, 138 cattle and ten horses and donkeys. The maximum stocking is 80 large livestock units. Bargälla has recently been used together with the Alp Garsälli.
