Since May 2, 2009, it has been showing walkers the way to the mission procuration from afar: the almost 10 meter high statue of Christ. It quickly became a kind of landmark for our house. Day trippers use the place to rest and pray, and the sculpture is illuminated at dawn and dusk.

For decades it stood on the roof of the Prosper Hospital in Recklinghausen. When the building was demolished in the 1970s, the statue was stored in the hospital park. Thanks to the commitment of Father Konrad Liebscher, the mission procurator of Sankt Augustin, the statue was restored in 2009 and came to Sankt Augustin.
