Veynau Castle is a medieval moated castle that was built around 1340. It is located near the Euskirchen district of Wißkirchen and is the largest castle complex in the Euskirchen district. It is one of the most impressive and important castles in the Rhineland. It is privately owned and can therefore only be viewed from the outside.

The castle was founded around 1340 and given by the Margrave of Jülich as a fief to the truchess Dietrich Schinnenmann von Aldenhoven, who expanded it into the strongest fortress in the region. In 1351 the castle became the Cologne Offenhaus.
