With a baroque baptismal angel reminiscent of a ship's prow. An open kitchen that is worth visiting

Anyone who comes to Schnackenburg, one of the smallest towns in Germany, can see the tower towering high above the roofs of the Schnackenburg St. Nicolai Church, which was probably built around 1200. Here you can see the pulpit and altar from 1727 as well as a floating baptismal angel that looks down gently at the visitors.
The red brick building stands in the middle of the small town. Since the beginning of the 1990s, it has served as the venue for the Schubertiaden music festival every year. If you want to visit the church outside of the traditional festivals, you have plenty of opportunity to do so in summer. From April to October the Schnackenburger church is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The first mention took place in 1284. The oldest bell in the tower dates from the 14th century. A beautiful brick building.
