Less popular than the Łącka Dune, but equally beautiful, and perhaps more peaceful? Both are the most recognizable dunes in Słowiński National Park. A beautiful sight.

The shifting dunes of the Słowiński National Park are located in one of the most accumulative sections of the Polish Baltic Sea coast. The Łebska Spit, formed at this location, separates the Garden Łebska Lowland from the open sea with a sand barrier. The sand material accumulated in the spit comes from the adjacent, erosional parts of the coast. The transport of the sand formation is related to the activity of coastal currents parallel to the coastal zone.

The beginnings of the development of the relief of the Łebska Spit date back to the subboreal period, but its morphology and extent are constantly changing due to the shifting of the band of active, unstable dunes. The landscape of the Łebska Spit is characterized by great diversity due to the presence of various types of coastal dunes. These include foredunes, parabolic dunes, and barchans, interspersed with depressions and swamps.
