Eschefelder Teiche is a nature reserve with several small ponds in the village of Frohburg, which can be accessed separately from each other. It is located in the south of the district of Saxony near Leipzig. The ponds were artificially created in the 18th century for fish farming.

Hiking

Medieval ponds (first documented mention in 1457) on damming layers of clay in the loess area, which are used for fishing (carp) to preserve water bottles. Species-rich animal world (amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals). Waterfowl sanctuary (colony of black-headed gulls, four species of divers and much more). Off-trail, boating, swimming, camping and fishing are not permitted. However, a walk or a bike ride between the individual pond sections is a nice experience.
