The De Hoop windmill is located at Meentsestraat 3 in Giesbeek. It is a round stone tower mill. The mill was built in 1888 as a belt mill. In 1927 the hood and the cross of the sails were removed from the mill and a major restoration was necessary. De Hoop was badly damaged during the Second World War. The mill was not restored until 1956, using parts from the De Dankbaar mill in Kreijel. In 1964 the entire interior was broken out and the belt was excavated. In 1979 the municipality of Angerlo bought the mill to restore it in 1981. The former belt mill finally became a tower mill. Part of the scaffolding is formed by the roof of the supermarket built next to the mill.

On Saturdays, the mill shop is open from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM and you can visit the mill.

De Hoop has a grinding pair with 16th (140 cm diameter) artificial stones, with which grain is ground for different bakers.

The blades are equipped with the Bussel System with nose brake valves on both rods. The welded rods are 20.50 m long and made in 1982 by the windmill maker Groot Wesseldijk. The inner rod has number 2 and the outer rod number 3.

The 4.40 m long cast-iron upper shaft was cast by the Prins van Oranje iron foundry in 1876 and has number 1019.

The mill has an English wheel that is seasoned with the help of a wheel wheel.

The mill is captured, stopped, with a Flemish catch, which is operated with a catch drum.

    The sloth is a sloth.
