With the incorporation, Küblingen became a district of the town of Schöppenstedt. Küblingen therefore has no legal status like Eitzum, Sambleben and Schliestedt, all of which were added to the town of Schöppenstedt as districts in 1974.
Küblingen is home to St. Mary's Church, first mentioned in 1328, which was a pilgrimage church during the Middle Ages.
