The Rural Center Paddenbroek is an educational agricultural center in Gooik that is located on the site of an old rural farm. The site on the Kesterheide was an educational center for some time and was purchased by the municipality of Gooik in 2012. A striking feature of the center is the glass buildings that have been placed around the old farm, next to which additional facilities have been built such as meeting rooms and a café.

In a beautiful location at the foot of the Kesterheide in Gooik and along the old tram bed, lies the new Paddenbroek Countryside Center.
The building itself is a beautiful piece of architecture where old and new are combined into a valuable and unique project. In the gardens you will find a standard orchard with about 200 trees, a pool, an ecological vegetable garden, a baking oven and a bee hall.You can quench your thirst in the cycling and hiking café Paddenbroek.
