There is a rest area right on the Notte Canal. You can also find out a lot about the Notte Canal on an information board.

The Notte Canal is actually a river, but it was expanded under Elector Joachim II around 1569 to make the river navigable. It was the first waterway in Brandenburg to be made navigable. It was extended to a length of 25 km between Mellensee and Königs Wusterhausen between 1856 and 1864. The Notte, as a tributary of the Dahme, was then called the canalized Notte. This later became the Notte Canal, although this is actually incorrect, because it is not an artificial waterway.
